Theory of a Deadman Return to Rock Form With Cautionary Tale ‘Dinosaur’

 

Theory of a Deadman are returning with new music and the new track has a distinct bite. The band has shifted to a more pop-oriented direction in recent times The band drop the cautionary tale “Dinosaur” that delivers with plenty of rock swagger , while providing a warning signal for humans.

Songwriter Tyler Connolly belts out his prediction with the lyrics ” Hey kids, boys and girls / Now we’ve really done it, it’s the end of the world / Now, we’re going out, going out like the dinosaur.” While it’s definitely an ominous sentiment but the music that goes with this thought isn’t and the band makes use of an energetic swing to convey the feeling that this is an occasion to celebrate.

“‘Dinosaur’ takes us back to our roots with this riff-driven rocker,” says Connolly. “To me, it feels like it could fit on any of our albums, but I will say if you like the old Theory of a Deadman, you’ll love the new Theory of a Deadman.”

“Rock is where we made our bed for all these years,” says guitar player Dave Brenner. “It’s been a while since we had an up-tempo in-your-face track like this – and it felt good.”

 

As of now, “Dinosaur” is a standalone single that comes following the announcement of the band’s album for 2020, Say Nothing. It’s also more of the more rock-oriented part of the band’s sound as a powerful guitar melody pulsates through your speakers.

The track was produced by Martin Terefe, and it’s possible this could eventually lead to the announcement of their next album.
