Vehicle from Renton road rage shooting recovered; 9-year-old victim out of hospital

Washington State Patrol has recovered the vehicle from a road rage incident that left 9-year old Isaiah Johns in a hospital.

According to troopers, the Mustang stolen was found in Tukwila. The shooter remains at large.

Officials are currently processing the vehicle for evidence.

Anybody with information is welcome to contact WSP.

This announcement came hours before Isaiah’s Burien welcome home ceremony.

“I don’t know how you can get stronger than this. Michael Snyder, Isaiah’s grandfather, said that he’s been “amazing”.

It was a special moment when Isaiah walked to welcome Kennedy Catholic High School friends and relatives. He even shared a football with his teammates.

Mason Linal, his teammate, stated that he was just happy for him to be home. Isaiah was killed in an accident on the way to work with his sister and dad. As they were leaving State Route 167 towards Renton, a dispute broke out with another driver. The suspect began shooting at Isaiah’s father, who got out of his car. Isaiah was hit in the chest and face with bullets.

It was very sad. Linal stated that he was shocked by what had happened. Linal said that Isaiah was in critical condition when he was taken to a local hospital.

Snyder stated that Snyder believed he would still be in ICU. He has been at home for the past few days and is improving each day.

He was able to get out of the hospital because he wanted it. Snyder stated that he is doing well considering all he has been through. His family wants all those responsible to be held accountable.

“We asked them earlier in the week whether they would turn themselves in. This is not likely. Snyder stated that we hope someone will recognize them or hear what happened and come forward.
