Portuguese side Braga is expected to be used as a ‘development club’ for PSG and the Red Devils, giving both teams somewhere to send their most exciting raw talents to progress with the guarantee of getting fundamental minutes and opportunities in a competitive league.
Qatar’s Abdullah Al-Thani also owns Spanish side Malaga, though a decision has not been made on whether the La Liga outfit will be included in the network plans. Malaga are currently facing numerous off-the-pitch issues, and their performances domestically could see them relegated to the La Liga 2 – though the latter would not be a deterrent in their thinking.
It remains to be seen whether the Glazers decide to continue entertaining offers from both parties this season or opt for a minority sale that would see them stay in control for the foreseeable future.
