‘Planes, Trains And Automobiles’ 4K Ultra HD With Deleted Scenes From John Hughes Archive Released

A new version of the classic film PlansTrains, and Automobiles has been released just in time for Thanksgiving. It includes more than an hour of extra footage.

The Steve Martin comedy and John Candy comedy are now available on Ultra HD. It also includes a bonus Blu-ray disc called “lost luggage” with deleted and extended scenes taken from director John Hughes‘ archives.

This film focuses on Martin and Candy’s struggle to return to Chicago after their plane was rerouted to Wichita in Kansas. The film ends with a touching finale that caps off the hilarious comedy.

Also on the bonus Blu-Ray disc is Dylan Baker’s audition to play Owen. He rides in his pickup truck and offers a tribute for John Candy. There is also a documentary about John Hughes.

Hughes directed and wrote the film. It was released originally on Nov. 25, 1987. Paramount Home Entertainment rereleased it on Tuesday for its 35 th anniversary.
